The sermon, ‘Charlie Kirk, TPUSA, and Homosex: A Warning,’ by Matt Trewhella

Matt, thanks for your video presentation. If a pastor invokes those two words, “Charlie Kirk,” from a pulpit, that is the only way it should be done, as a negative, and as a rebuke and warning. The way Kirk molested God’s Word, taking Jesus out of context, while slandering the Lord, was BLASPHEMY. And the way Kirk publicly shamed (gaslighted) the young Christian man who opposed homosexuality was morally reprehensible. For years, I have warned people to run from Charlie Kirk and TPUSA. And way before Trump’s first presidency, I refused to join the MAGA movement. Mainly because of the pro-homosexual and pro-feminist agenda of Kirk, TPUSA, and Trump. Since the death of Kirk, I have lost respect for so many professing Christians whom I personally knew. And the same for the many pastors that have proven to be hirelings, not shepherds. Kirk believed in another Gospel, and so I would never call him a “brother” as many do. The Lord decreed COVID, and consequently, in a sense, that was helpful to separate the sheep from the goats. And perhaps the death of Kirk is going the same way. I recently had breakfast at a small-town diner. While they all wanted to lift the name of Charlie Kirk; as a Christian should do, I turned the light on the darkness. I was told, “If you don’t support Charlie the way we do, you won’t be welcome at our table anymore!” I am thankful to no longer be welcome (Matt 10:34-39, Lk 12:49-56). What I am about to say will even further alienate me from professing believers. It wasn’t until ‘after’ the death of Voddie Baucham that I learned he was currently sharing platforms with Charlie Kirk, as well as sharing microphones with Allie Beth Stuckey. Why Voddie, why? Though I’ve never voted for a Democrat and never will. God’s elect must never republicanize the Lord’s church with what I call their triad of national sin.

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” – Ephesians 5:11-16
