A message on ‘Modern spirituality and your mind,’ by Voddie Baucham

Anytime we see the words ‘spirituality, spiritualism, or spiritual,’ that ought to raise a flag. That ought to place us on discernment watch.

Too many Christians engage in false doctrines, or go outside Gods will because they followed what they thought was the Spirit of Christ. As Voddie stated, ‘That is the way we Christianize our pagan understanding of finding the will of God.”

Remember the Apostle Paul warned us about ‘other spirits’ in the church, and ‘another Jesus.’

We must always weigh the Word of God against what we think is in the spiritual realm. Then anytime what we ‘think’ is Gods Spirit, if it contradicts the Word of God; then we must resist and repent. Because Gods Holy Spirit will never contradict His Holy Scriptures.

As Voddie Baucham said when discerning Gods Spirit, “Read your Bible, think Biblically, pray Biblically; and when in doubt, repeat it.”

Voddie also warns about psychology in the church. “Most Christians believe that if you have a small problem, you can go to your pastor. If you have a real problem, you have to go to a licensed professional, who is trained in a discipline that is antithetical to Biblical Christianity. Whereas the Bible says, your greatest problem is on the inside of you, and your solution is on the outside. But psychology says your greatest problems are on the outside of you, and the solution is on the inside of you.”

He further advised this is “the spirit of the age, liberal Christianity.” And that’s only the first 30 minutes of the message.
