Bill 2The State of the Roman Catholic Religion, and the criminology, victimology, and theology of Catholicism

by Chaplain Bill Rhetts
March 8th, 2013

Introduction:
On February 11, 2013, the 85-year old pope Benedict XVI, announced that “because of advanced age,” he would resign by the end of the month. This news made history, because the last pope to resign; was pope Gregory XII way back in the year 1415.

So what happens next? As we speak, the catholic churches ‘college of cardinals,’ which consists of 206 cardinals, are currently convening in the Vatican. They are betrothed in the duties of appointing up to 120 “selectors.” The selectors are the ones that will choose (or select) the next pope.

However, a cardinal must be under the age of 80-years-old to be considered as a ‘selector.’ Which means only those cardinals born after March 8th, 1933 can be considered as part of the selection process. That brings the current number of ‘selectors’ down to 116.

These 116 selectors have now been sequestered from the public and the media. This is done so that their decisions cannot be influenced by anyone outside their Vatican assembly room. Unless of course your Cardinal Roger Mahoney from Los Angeles, Calif, USA. He’s already breached his sequestration, by sending out Tweets from his Twitter account.

As I write this article, the cardinals are currently in session, and will vote twice a day, until they agree on a new pope; which requires a two-third vote.

After each vote, they will telegraph a message to the public. However, it won’t be from Mahoney’s Twitter feed. Instead, a smoke signal will be sent out from the rooftop of the Vatican.

If their vote has not appointed a new pope, they will poor a chemical over the paper ballets, and light them on fire. Then ‘black’ smoke rises from the smoke stack, signifying that they do not yet have a two-thirds vote.

When they have affirmed a two-thirds vote, then they burn the ballets without chemicals, which will emit a ‘white’ smoke. The white smoke signifies to all those waiting outside, that they have finally selected a new Pope.

This new leader of the unbiblical catholic religion (the next pope,) will then become the most famous, televised, spoken-of person on the universe. To most, no other news will matter.

Having said all that. So what does a new pope mean to the catholic church, and to the world?

The religious institution compared to law enforcement:
One thing that ‘religious institutions’ and Law Enforcement have in common, is the shame felt when one of their peers goes bad.

All decent police officers share the same pains when a Cop goes bad, just as some catholics share the same pains when a Priest goes bad. Or protestants, when a protestant leader goes bad. Or a Jew when a rabbi goes bad (although I can’t remember having heard of many Rabbis molesting children.)

Many within law enforcement have been wrongfully criticized, just for doing their job. The public loves it when they respond to their call, but often they don’t agree with the way the Cop ‘gets the job done.’ Although there have been some ‘isolated incidents’ within law enforcement, where the public did have a legitimate reason for their public outcries.

For instance, there were three police scandals in the past 30 years from both sides of our Nation. Neither one can be defended, or justified in any way.

I remember back in 1981 when California Highway Patrol officer George Gwaltney pulled over an actress on the IS-15 freeway. He raped her, and then fatally shot her in the head. Law Enforcement had a terrible dark shadow hovering over their badge. It was tarnished by a bad cop. Rightfully so, shortly after the incident, lone female motorists feared being pulled over by the police.

Then in 1999 on the East Coast, a New York police officer used a broom stick handle to sodomize an arrestee in a jail cell.

Both incidents had nothing to do with any form of police work, but occurred while the officers were on duty; which tarnished the reputation of police officers across the Nation.

Then in February 2013, former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner went on a selfish, sinister, narcissistic, homicidal crime spree; killing innocent people all over Southern California. Dorner was no longer an active police officer, but he inadvertently represented the LAPD while doing so.

Police departments generally do an excellent job at ‘policing their own police.’ There is a discipline process which ranges from no action, to reprimands, to suspension, to termination; and even incarceration. Or, in Dorners’ case… death.

In the protestant faith, there have been some isolated incidents of sexual abuse. However, these protestant churches do a decent job at removing the problem. The pastors have their ordinations and/or clergy collars removed. However, it doesn’t stop there. They are then removed from the church they once led, and if the sexual sin is ‘criminal,’ they are turned over to the authorities for prosecution. A church that polices (disciplines) itself is a healthy church.

The intent of this article is not ‘catholic bashing,’ nor ‘gay bashing.’ The truth is, non-saved and/or non-repented heterosexuals will also perish in the lake of fire; and it won’t matter what church they go to. If your straight, and are committing fornication or adultery; in Gods’ eyes your no different.  However the catholic church needs a serious overhaul, to say the least. Or perhaps it should be shut down. As a former catholic myself, I’ve learned that Catholicism is in fact just that; another ‘ism.’

There are many well-intended sincere members of Catholicism, but they’re sincerely wrong. Religion cannot save us. Religion has sent more people to Hell than all the bars in America. The catholic church cannot save them. Biblically speaking, the true church (aka the bride of Christ,) is a body of blood washed, born-again, repented believers.

Are there some in the catholic religion saved? Not if they’re not born-again. Not if they continue to submit to the idolatry of Roman Catholicism. And not if they have not repented and obeyed the Gospel.  Here’s one of many warnings, “and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians 1:7-8).

Why would a truly saved Christian continue to belong to a man made unbiblical religion, that intentionally goes against the Holy Bible? And that allows wide spread sin, corruption, and heresy?

It is time that we all speak out against the leadership of the catholic religion. The catholic church is a worldwide organized religion, therefore the problem has become world wide.

Catholics need to hold their own leadership accountable. From the deacon to the priest, from the bishop to the archbishop, from the cardinal to the pope. Yes, even the pope. Or, better yet, flee from this false religion as I did.

Most of us have always known that the catholic church has allowed homosexual priests. That is why priests have freely molested thousands of little boys. Yes, there have been a smaller number of heterosexual priests molesting girls, but the number of boys being molested by homosexual priests, is unproportionally greater. The risk factor of molestations is greater, with homosexuals in leadership.

The dollar figure which the catholic church has paid out to molested victims, has reached well over one billion dollars. However, you can’t put a price tag on the victims, because no amount of money can heal their wounds. Many of the molested boys have committed suicide, because of the pains and shame they suffered. Whose money is it that the catholic church uses to buy indulgences with, for there pedophiles? It’s other catholics.

Is the catholic church adopting the Military’s new policy on homosexuals – Don’t ask, don’t tell? Oh I forgot, President Barack Obama has even lowered that bar too.

Not only have they known about their own priests molesting hundreds of boys, they have condoned it, and even maliciously covered the scandal up.

The LAPD Staff vs Catholic Church Hierarchy:
Following is an analogy of the leadership of the Los Angeles Police Dept, compared to the catholic church.

The position of top leadership within the LAPD goes as follows. The Chief would be the Pope, the Assistant and Deputy Chiefs would be the Cardinals.

Let me ask you. What would happen if there were an enormous amount of LAPD officers committing pedophilia acts on duty, after gaining the public trust, due to their position of power? Imagine what you would say if the Popes and Cardinal’s of the LAPD, simply just ‘transferred’ or ‘moved’ those officers around to different Divisions or Bureaus. So that they can continue to molest more boys while on duty. Well that’s exactly what the catholic church’s leadership has done with the homosexual and/or pedophile priests.

The Pope in Los Angeles CA ~ USA:
The Catholic church has made false idols, and false gods out of their leadership.

Back in 1987 pope John Paul II came to Los Angeles. As a Los Angeles police officer, I had the assignment of being a “fixed post” right in front of the “Immaculate Conception.” My responsibility was to make sure no one passed my line, as the Pope John Paul II, and the First Lady Nancy Reagan entered the church.

An officer assigned to the Metropolitan Division literally idolized the pope, and left his fixed post to run over and take a photograph of the pope. This severely compromised the security of that particular area. Subsequently that Metro officer was disciplined, and removed from the Metropolitan Division.

Many well meaning catholics believe that the pope has a final say with moral, Biblical and social issues. Well, they’re wrong.

This may be alarming to some, but the pope is a sinner, and he needs to repent, and become saved by the Saviour (Romans 3:10, 23.) Most popes have died and gone to hell for an entirety, as well as their followers.

Following are just a few of the hundreds of their egregious false teachings.

On Dec 9th, 2000, Pope John Paul II spoke to a crowd of over 30,000 at the St. Peter’s Square. The Pope stated to them, “All who live a just life will be saved, even if you don’t believe in Jesus Christ!”

However, Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

The Catholic Church teaches that their members are to confess their individual sins to a priest during confession. This is not a Biblical practice, it is another form of idolatry; it is sin.

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” 1st Timothy 2:5.

That’s right, Jesus is the only way, and Jesus is the only one to confess our sins to. (In all fairness, some protestants have also made themselves a mediator in these unbiblical “repeat this prayer after me” sinners prayers.)

The catholic church teaches that the Peter of the Bible, was their churches first catholic pope. We know that this is not true.

Remember those blasphemous comments the pope made at the St. Peter’s Square? Since the catholic church teaches that Peter was their first Pope, let’s see what Peter himself says about men like the pope John Paul II.

“But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.” 2 Peter 2:1

The AIDS epidemic of Catholic Priests:
Back in 2001, in an ABC 20/20 news interview, Richard Sipe, a psychotherapist and former priest, stated “I estimated that 750 priests had already died of AIDS.” According to 20/20, Sipe who has analyzed hundreds of AIDS cases in the priesthood then stated, “another 750 priests carry the HIV virus.”

Folks, those alarming numbers are now 12-years-old. The catholic church is more hush about this issue now. So imagine what those numbers have risen to?

The Center for Disease Control reported that homosexual priests in the catholic church are 6 times more likely to contract the AIDS virus (if they have not already,) than the average homosexual male outside the church.

Having been an LAPD VICE Cop assigned in a homosexual community, I should write a commentary just on the priests seen in the gay bars, parks, and bath houses. There is no way I could put a XXX rated article like that, on a Christian Ministries web site.

The Pope calls all 15 American Cardinals to Rome:
Back in 2002 during the height of the catholic church sexual scandal, the Cardinals from North America were called to a mandatory meeting with the pope, to discuss their horrific sinister corruption problem.

Many of us were praying that they would truly repent, and make some Biblical changes, but they did not. My hope and prayers was that they would at least terminate all homosexual priests, but they did not.

I also hoped that they would set a new ‘zero tolerance’ policy for priests regarding molesting boys, but they did not. Instead, they advised they would only punish priests that were “notorious and/or guilty of serial predatorily sexual molestations!” Wow isn’t that disheartening?

I never thought we would ever live to see day, when that the Boy Scouts of America had more conviction, moral courage, and fortitude than the catholic church. The Boys Scouts had enough common sense to know that having homosexuals in their camping tents could be problematic.

The solution to the problem:
The catholic church needs to deny their traditions or Roman Catholicism, and get back to the Bible; or close down. The Bible is our Route 66, (all 66 books included). They need to be solely Jesus Christ centered.

The catholic church needs to preach and teach the whole counsel of the inerrant, infallible, unredacted, non-truncated Word of God. In all fairness, so should all the protestant pastors (that’s another article in itself.)

The Pope may be the head of the catholic religion, but he is not the head of the true Church. The Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, is thee Head of the true Church.

“And He [Christ] is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.” Colossians 1:18

The minimum standards for those in leadership, should be based on the Bible’s minimal standards for church leadership, not what the pope says.

“This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.” 1 Timothy 3:1-7

Popes have allowed others to worship themselves. They have taught heresies worldwide. Therefore, the position of pope should be eliminated.

Their leadership, et.al., needs Biblical repentance, not catholic penance.

Many popes and cardinals now fit the criteria of ‘Racketeering.’ This Federal law states that anybody who “Utilizes an interstate commerce, and consistently holds a pattern that constitutes a criminal enterprise of racketeering and obstruction of justice is suspect of the ‘Rico Statute’.

Lastly, I’ve used the phrase ‘church’ many times in this article. The catholic church is not part of the true Biblical church. The heaven bound Biblical church, is the body of blood washed sinners, that have been saved by the Saviour. It is those, that have repented from their sins, believed in the Gospel, and have committed their lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It is those, that have been born again from above. No matter whom those cardinals select as their next pope, this unbiblical religion will fail mankind.

I say this with love, but as a Catholic I was going to hell. If you’re a catholic reading this, give all your life, faith, and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, and not to a religion, church, pastor, priest or pope. Repudiate this pagan religion.

An evidence of salvation, is a person that (including but not limited to) ~

  • consistently confesses their sins to Christ (1st John 1:9)
  • consistently repents from their sins (Mark 1:15, Luke 13:3 & Acts 2:38, Acts 3:19 )
  • consistently turns back to, and commits to Christ
  • consistently grows in Christ (2nd Pet 3:18)
  • is a disciple of Christ & will “go out” and make disciples (Matt 28: 18-20)
  • is a follower of Christ (Matt 16:24)
  • is not of this world (1st John 2:15)
  • they must be born-again (John 3:3)
  • they will not enable, tolerate or acquiesce to sin (Roms 1:32 & James 4:17)
  • they will be a God pleaser, not a man pleaser (Gal 1:10)
  • they will no longer be slaves to sin (Rom 6:6)
  • they will be a bond-servant to Christ (James 1:1 & 2nd Pet 1:1)
  • they will imitate Jesus as the Christ (1st Cor 11:1)
  • they will fear the Lord, and value His Word (Psalms 2:11, Prov 1:7 & Phil 2:12-13)
  • they will “hold fast” to His Word (2nd Tim 1:13 & Phil 2:16)
  • they will “abide” in His Word (1st John 2:-7)
  • they will obey they Word of God (2nd Thess 1:7-8)
  • they will ‘put on the Lord Jesus Christ’ (Roms 3:14)
  • they will bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit (Gal 5:22-26)
  • they will keep (strive to keep) Gods commandments (John 14:12-17)
  • they will hate their sins. As others have said, “A Christian will hate what God hates, and loves what God loves.”

“If Christ has died for me – ungodly as I am, without strength as I am – then I can no longer live in sin, but must arouse myself to love and serve Him who has redeemed me. I cannot trifle with the evil that killed my best Friend. I must be holy for his sake. How can I live in sin when He has died to save me from it?” Charles Spurgeon
