My statement opposing Flock surveillance systems & Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR’s)

As a policeman, I learned that random patrol produces random results. And so it is with Flock surveillance systems and Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR’s). However, these digital dragnets are worse; they drag every law-abiding citizen into their nets, while recording and mapping their every move. And too many have been wrongfully arrested.

Without exaggeration, law enforcement personnel who use these surveillance systems are stalkers, literally. And the same officers (or deputies) who will arrest citizens for stalking, prowling, or perverted peeping toms who would watch a woman undress through her bedroom window have become offenders themselves. This stalking problem is so systemic that we need a national database for registered offenders and cops who misuse these systems. But my last sentence is a better solution.

America is turning into a communist China or Nazi Germany. It’s another story of the Wolves, Sheep, and the Sheepdogs. Those in law enforcement who use these are the Wolves. The citizens who support Flock are the Sheep. And if they’re willing to surrender our privacy, or give up liberty to catch a criminal, they are Simpletons who belong to the Flock flock. And the minority of us who are against this belong to the Sheepdogs. Similar to COVID. This police state, surveillance state will help us identify who the Wolves, Sheep, and Sheepdogs are. Existing Cops should resist and reject this form of tyranny.

And no, we don’t need “more accountability” or “better safeguards” for this tyrannical technology. This is far too much power to give law enforcement. Therefore, we need to abolish the use of this technology entirely.
