A Hillview Kentucky man was arrested after shooting down a drone
This occurred in August of last year, but I first heard about this today. Sadly the district attorney’s office filed felony criminal charges against him. But according to this article, thankfully the judge later dropped the charges.
“William Meredith of Hillview, Kentucky, had insisted that the drone was spying on his 16-year old daughter, who was sunbathing in the backyard. Judge Rebecca Ward of the Bullitt District Court evidently agreed that Meredith had cause to fire at the UAV, because she dismissed charges of wanton endangerment and criminal mischief filed by the drone’s owner David Boggs.”
I would be honored to have William Meredith as my neighbor, and California could benefit from more judges like Rebecca Ward. Perhaps we’ll see an increase of these justified drone shootings. – Bill 😉
