The Scriptures warn that God is a jealous God. Too many professing Christians made too much out of the Eclipse, when they should have been making much more out of Christ. Look at all the Catastrophes since this eclipse. These ‘signs of the times’ are for one purpose – to point us to, and prepare us for the Second Coming of Christ. It’s all about Him, lest it become idolatry.
As Jesus warned, “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars;” (Luke 21:25a).
“Stupendous eclipses shall precede the Lord’s coming, and other strange events both in heaven, earth, and sea, as Luke hath it. The frame of this whole universe shall shake, as houses give great cracks when ready to fall. See 2 Pet. iii. 10, and seek no further.” – Puritan John Trapp, M.A. (1601-1669)
“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:25-28).

UPDATE: This morning I street preached from this Text. While doing so, a guy responded to this message. He was broken, and contrite – rejoicing in the Lord. Video below.
