Commemorating Confederate History & Heritage Month with a new flag
To commemorate Confederate History and Heritage Month, I replaced my old flag with a new one. My previous were higher-quality cotton, stitched and sewn embroidered 5’x8’ flags. But they took a good wind to make her sail. Each lasted approximately one year. But they faded too much before they became torn or tattered.
This time I am trying a less expensive polyester flag. In this video the winds are moderate, it is sailing well, perhaps too well. So, I suspect it will not last long in our higher winds and will most likely be going back to the cotton flags; time shall tell. Deo Vindice!

“Surrender means that the history of this heroic struggle will be written by the enemy; that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers; will learn from Northern school books their version of the War; will be impressed by all the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors, and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.” – General Patrick Cleburne.

The words of General Patrick Cleburne rang true. Who was this man’s man? He was a Confederate General who was killed in action, here in Tennessee, by Yankees who invaded the South.
.
What’s surprising to me is that when I moved to the South in 2022. I then learned that a majority of Tennessee natives believed the lies of the Yankees and were brainwashed by the same educators and books. They may have been born in the South, but they’ve betrayed their own Confederacy. While some of them who claim to be ancestors of Confederate soldiers, or Confederate supporters, would not fly the Confederate flag (the Southern Cross) on their own property. But they might muster enough courage to share a Confederate meme on Facebook. No guts, no glory. That is the reason I will pull my vehicle over to take photos of the flags of those who do. Because it’s a dying breed, I memorialize those Kodak moments and share them with others. And without apology, I fly a 5’x8’ Southern Cross on our compound. And oh, by the way, General Patrick Cleburne was what the aforementioned would call a “transplant,” as am I. By God’s grace I am American by birth, but Southern by choice. – Deo vindice!
