Latest video ‘JUST JOHN 3:16? Who packed your parachute?’ (open-air preaching by Bill Rhetts)
Lots of fruitful conversations afterwards. The Lord used three Christians to engage in some trilateral encouragement, I am thankful for them.

WHY IS JOHN 3:16 ALONE A WEAK DEFENSE AGAINST ELECTION?, by James White
.
The “whosoever” of John 3:16 is a present tense nominative singular masculine articular participle that translates literally as “the one who is believing”. Jesus was therefore making a declaration, not giving an invitation. Those who believe will not perish. The believing ones, not all people. The verse is about what God did, not what we do of any supposed free will. And why do the elect believe? Because God wills it and works in their hearts by His Holy Spirit to make those who were dead in sin be born again with spiritual eyes and ears. In John 3:16, all who believe will be saved from spiritual death and damnation by God who loves His created order (cosmos), those who were made in His image. The verse is about what God does, not what we do.

Note the very clear (same) grammatical pattern…
.
Matthew 5:28, “But I say unto you, That WHOSOEVER LOOKETH [πᾶς ὁ βλέπων; pas ho blepon; literally — “ALL THE [ones] LOOKING”] on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
.
John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH [πᾶς ὁ πιστεύων; pas ho pisteuon; literally, “ALL THE [ones] BELIEVING”] in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
.
John 3:16 is no more an OFFER to BELIEVE and NOT PERISH than Matthew 5:28 is an OFFER to LOOK and COMMIT ADULTERY.
