On record as an opponent of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
I am not ashamed to go on record as a sceptic of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and an opponent of using AI to prepare Bible studies and sermons. AI is a form of transhumanism. However, the Scriptures do not speak specifically about AI. There are many verses we should consider in application to this AI phenomenon.
From the beginning of the fall, when the Serpent deceived Eve, claiming “ye shall be as gods” (Gen 3:5), to the warnings that a little leaven leavens the whole lump (Gal 5:9), to Satan being the father of lies (Jn 8:44), and that we should not lie, nor propagate lies (or the lies of AI). To the warning of Jude to not let these things creep into the church (Jude 4), and the various warnings throughout the Scriptures of deception or being deceived.
And as seen on the recent news. Using AI and/or ChatGPT to prepare a sermon or in a church service is blasphemy, idolatry, and a sinful way to impersonate a fourth person to the Trinity. It’s an apparent deification of AI. Frankly, if a man needs AI for his sermon preparation, I question if he has the Holy Spirit’s gift of teaching.
Therefore, it is my personal conviction not to create anything with artificial intelligence, not even a funny meme. I’m already seeing people lose credibility. Perhaps AI might become a more common way to violate the first two and ninth Commandments?
At least currently, AI is called what it is: “Artificial.” But mark my words, one day AI will be repackaged by renaming it Digital Truth (DT), or something similar. The proponents of AI will wrongfully call my position “divisive,” or “legalistic.” But I say that anyone bringing AI into the Lord’s church is the one bringing division.

The citizens who support Flock are the Sheep. And if they’re willing to invade or privacy, or give up liberty to catch a criminal, they are Simpletons who belong to the Flock flock.
