The triad of national sin and the one commonly practiced in unbiblical churches

Before we start, let’s define what national sin is. Historically speaking, in short, national sins refer to the sins that a nation collectively commits, both individually and corporately. For example, the sins of abortion and homosexuality have been historically known as national sins. These sins have been legislated from our nation’s highest levels of legislative jurisprudence. Today in 2025, many Republicans boast of having the most “pro-gay” White House and Presidential Cabinet in America’s history.

But I’m going to go out on a limb historically and refer to another sin as a national sin. And that sin is egalitarianism (aka feminism). Similar to the aforementioned national sins, egalitarianism has been legislated from our nation’s highest levels of legislative jurisprudence. Today we have more females leading our nation at the state level, federal level, and our White House Administration and Cabinet than ever before.

Though God does have a faithful remnant exposing, rebuking, and opposing the sins of abortion and homosexuality. Egalitarianism is embraced and promoted by a majority of “churches.” America’s Christendom has accepted, promoted, and practiced egalitarianism at the same rate as our ungodly government.

I’m going to go on a rabbit trail, but bear with me, I’ll return to the main points. This is important because I’m seeing an increase in churches introducing and even training young girls in egalitarianism.

I visited one church where a teenage girl opened and led the order of church service (the liturgy) by reading a chapter from the book of Psalms. I suspect she was the pastor’s daughter.

Recently, someone recommended a Baptist church to visit. Rather than visit, I examined their Facebook page. I was going to post the photo here, but I’m not ready for a war with the “24 mutual” Facebook friends that this pastor and I have in common. I saw the following publicly displayed.

The pastor stands behind the pulpit as a mother and her young daughters stand in front of the congregation. The little girls are posting the American and Christian flags. Each flag is displayed on each side of the communion table. On the table are the words “In Remembrance Of Me.” All are placing their right hand over their heart as they and their congregation pledge their allegiance to the flag, rather than to Christ. The same flag that stands in “unity” of legislating national sin and lawlessness.

I don’t want to speculate, but I thought to myself ‘I bet they’re proud of their little girls’ as they train them up to be feminists rebelling against God’s divine order of creation. But I don’t have to speculate in thought. After reviewing the mother’s page, she boasts “Words can not express how proud I am of my little [name snipped] for stepping up and filling her Daddy’s shoes!!!!!” She states her little daughter has been tasked to “lead the congregation” in worship on the next Lord’s Day. Did you get that? Her daughter is filling a man’s shoes in church and is leading in church. And this mother and her girls are leading up front and center every Lord’s Day.

I suspect that a reason egalitarianism is so widely accepted and practiced in rural Tennessee is that most congregations are directly related (kinfolk). I’ve counted five generations in some churches I’ve visited. Consequently, you have a high incidence of nepotism. 1

Many will say I’m too critical here, but I’m simply reporting the facts. And this observation is applicable because a little leaven (egalitarianism) leavens (egalitarians) the whole lump.

Further examination of their church’s Facebook page reveals their church is more of a social club or entertainment center. Their pseudō-church offers the following unbiblical programs and false teachings, including but not limited to.

  • SBC’ism
  • Concerts
  • Arminianism
  • Unbiblical soteriology
  • Lots of patriotism
  • Elvis impersonations
  • Pre-scheduled “revivals”
  • Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Birthday celebrations (topical sermons too)
  • Their signage says “We are so lucky to have Jesus”
  • They’ve closed because someone is “out sick”
  • Their pastor “breaking out in song” during sermon (a song that worships the false deity of Me, Myself & I)
  • A “family and friends day”
  • Halloween theme for “pastors’ recognition”
  • Halloween humor in the church bulletin
  • Game nights
  • A children’s church
  • Ice cream socials
  • Homecoming services
  • Easter egg hunts
  • Movie nights
  • “Thou shalt laugh… funny sections” in their bulletins
  • Celebrations of nearly all national holidays.

I could go on with more of their man-centeredness, but you get the point, we can expect this from a church that practices egalitarianism.

Back to the American flag.

There are many appropriate places for our American flag, but the Lord’s sanctuary isn’t one of them. I am convinced this display of the American flag in the sanctuary is idolatry, which is also known as a national sin. Although the Scriptures are clear that everybody, from time to time, commits idolatry (1 Cor. 10:13-14), it is reprehensible for the church to intentionally and corporately practice idolatry in the sanctuary on the Lord’s Day. I sin well enough all by myself. I don’t need the church to help me sin more.

This is why, years ago, I repented of my overzealous “patriotism,” which had become my god. This is why, as a bondslave to Christ, I refuse to be “united we stand” with such lawlessness. And without apology, this is how I voted in 2024 and the previous election.

In summary.

Though egalitarianism has always been a sin, egalitarianism has undoubtedly become a national sin. And so, our nation has embraced at least three national sins. In alphabetical order they are abortion, egalitarianism (feminism), and homosexuality.

A solution to this sin egalitarianism in the church, is to repent from practicing a normative principle of worship. And practice a regulative principle of worship. Just like a Biblical church would remove a person practicing abortion or homosexuality, they must abolish egalitarianism in their church. Besides, egalitarians or feminists are like flies on your meat.

I pray God will increase His remnant of Christian people who proactively expose and oppose the national sins of abortion, egalitarianism, and homosexuality. I also pray imprecatory prayers over America and her evangelicalism that God’s justice prevails over the aforementioned. Because the judgment of Almighty God is inevitable. Though God is not the author of sin, He decrees all things to occur. So, perhaps God is decreeing the above as a form of judgment, nonetheless.
